Erika Hilton: Fernando's tormentors, perpetrators and murderers must be identified, punished and held accountable for this barbaric crime, so that we can say that in this country we will no longer accept our lives being treated as something disposable.
Erika Hilton: We will no longer accept our dignity and our citizenship being disregarded, that our young people and our children, who have a whole life ahead of them, do not have the right to live for being who they are.
All of this is inadmissible, painful, barbaric, cruel, but, unfortunately, it is a reflection of Brazil, which does not do its homework to repair the historical debt it has with the LGBTQIA+ community.
Erika Hilton: As long as the National Congress continues to turn its back on this community, as long as it does not produce laws of protection and dignity for the entire LGBTQIA+ population, brutal, cowardly and cruel cases like this will continue to happen in every corner of Brazil.
Erika Hilton: I want to take advantage of this podium to send a solidarity embrace to the family and friends of the young man Fernando, executed in Manaus, and to say that, while we are inside this House, we will continue defending the rights of all the Brazilian people, of the entire LGBTQIA+ community.
