Erika Hilton: Thank you, President. I come to this podium today with my stomach sickened by what we witnessed at the Court of Justice of Minas Gerais: the legalization of pedophilia, the authorization for children to have relations with adult men, and the fact of calling this disgusting, criminal act a marriage.
We who are constantly fighting to defend children and our adolescent girls against femicide, in the struggle to value the lives of women, against a misogynistic State, have witnessed, in a horrifying manner, the legalization of pedophilia in Brazil.
Erika Hilton: This is something that frightens, shocks, and calls us to responsibility.
Erika Hilton: Even more shocking is to imagine that the punishment that can be applied to this appellate judge because of his decision is that he receives a lifelong retirement; that there is no mechanism to review a criminal decision.
