Affirmative action

So every year we'll have the big exams. So before I give someone a quota who basically had a horrible education the whole time — then, 'oh no, I'll claim I'm a quilombola, here's a quota' — I think that's absurd.

🏳️‍🌈 PROTECT THE QUEER BALLOT BOX! Republicanos, the party of Governor Tarcísio de Freitas and Senator Damares Alves, went to court to take down the… Votinho. Votinho is the mascot of the organization Vote LGBT that was installed on Paulista Avenue to encourage our community to vote. But, according to Republicanos, encouraging LGBTQIA+ people to vote is a problem. This is the Brazilian far right. They are against women voting, they are against LGBTQIA+ people voting, they are against quotas for Black candidates, they are against even discussing ending the 6x1 schedule before the election, and they are against the electronic voting machines themselves. This people's fear is evident: that the Brazilian people, in all their diversity, turn out to vote and defeat their projects of exclusion, exploitation and privatization. We will not back down! Our community will vote and the queer ballot box will stand tall!

I especially highlight the Affirmative Action Program for Black People, created in 2002, which this year will offer 38 scholarships.

In 2026, we also began granting scholarships to indigenous candidates and we expect to launch, later this year, similar initiatives aimed at people with disabilities.

Very soon, we will have the results of the first admissions examination for the diplomatic career with reserved vacancies for indigenous people and quilombolas.
