Disability Rights

Thank you, Mr. President. I come here to make an appeal to Senator Davi Alcolumbre to schedule the veto regarding Bill No. 2,687 of 2022, which recognizes type 1 diabetes as a disability.

This right is already guaranteed by the Statute of the Person with Disabilities.

This was approved by this Congress, but Lula, under sordid and unscrupulous arguments of bureaucracy, vetoed the bill, harming millions of people who depend on state assistance.

Now the matter is in the hands of Senator Davi Alcolumbre, President of the National Congress, who can schedule the veto on this bill so that we Deputies and Senators, through our vote, can secure this right for people with type 1 diabetes.

Therefore, I ask people to continue pressuring Senator Davi Alcolumbre.

I have no doubt that we will guarantee this right to these people. Thank you, Mr. President.
