The most ironic thing is that many of those who defended this bill today voted against increasing penalties for rapists and against lowering the age of criminal responsibility. In other words, a bunch of scoundrels trying to take advantage of the election year to deceive women. But the truth always prevails. Protecting women requires coherence and effective laws, not poorly drafted, ideological bills like this one. Now they still need to approve it on the merits. I will work hard against it.
