Where is Parliamentary immunity? Where is freedom of expression?

Ladies and gentlemen, today is a day to record, here in our country, the face of the Left and what, in fact, it defends.

I am not giving my opinion, I am not here simply defending Gustavo Gayer personally.

This is the defense of the Federal Constitution, which Your Excellencies so often invoke, exalt and claim to defend.

Article 53 is crystal clear in establishing that Deputies and Senators are inviolable, civilly and criminally, for any — I repeat, any — of their opinions, words and votes.

I heard a Deputy who spoke before me say that insults and crude words are not covered by parliamentary immunity.

I disagree with what Daniel Silveira said, but I do not have, under the Federal Constitution, the power to strip him of his mandate and much less to imprison him.

There are people who say whatever they want here in this House, but the Right will never support stripping a Deputy of their mandate because of their words, opinions, or votes.
