Erika Hilton: And when they are remembered, it is not to seek dignity, citizenship, equity, rights; they are remembered to be targets of mockery, ridicule, humiliation, so that their rights are even more stolen, seized.
It is necessary to have a qualified debate about the Brazil we want, about the project of democracy we defend.
Erika Hilton: Yesterday we saw the exaltation of the dictatorship, of torture, the tearing apart of democracy.
Erika Hilton: This occurred yesterday, not long ago. We need, starting from this case and so many others that occur throughout Brazil, to discuss what kind of Brazil we want, what kind of politics we want, what responsibilities institutions have in the face of barbarism, violence, inequality, hatred and intolerance.
