Kim Kataguiri: We even imposed tougher negotiating conditions on our side of the table and, even so, the Republic of Singapore accepted.
Kim Kataguiri: So, I believe Brazil has much to learn from the ASEAN countries — Association of Southeast Asian Nations — and this agreement follows the line that we need, because increasingly we must free ourselves from the dependence we have on certain economic hubs and engage with as many political and economic actors in the world as possible, since we do not know, in the current geopolitical climate we live in, when the world might enter into conflict or which supply chains we might lose access to.
Therefore, the greater the number of trading partners we can have, the better, especially considering ASEAN, which today is the fastest-growing region in the world. Thank you, Mr. President.

And I want to say that, in the last experience I had in Geneva in the ILO negotiations, it became very clear to me that the European countries propose and push a series of recommendations that only aim to harm African countries, Brazil and other Latin American countries, especially emerging countries.
Kim Kataguiri: It is very clear that they impose a series of restrictions on our labor market.
