Renan Santos: The game is turning against Wesley Safadão and you're the one to blame. Folks, you who put pressure on Wesley Safadão and exposed many absurd expenses tied to shows—not only his, but other artists around Brazil—using public money in very poor municipalities, you can celebrate. It's because after our pressure, the Public Prosecutor's Office for Accounts of Paraíba filed an action in the state demanding that the multi-million fee for our friend Wesley Safadão not be paid for the show in the city of Cochichola, the city I mentioned in the last video which has about 1,800 inhabitants. That's right, 1,800 inhabitants. The whole show would cost 2.5 million and Safadão alone would pocket about 1.3 million. By way of comparison, just so you understand the absurdity: Safadão's fee of 1.3 million would account for 61% of the city's education budget. In other words, for the city the priority is Wesley Safadão and education is not a priority. And then they want me to be censored and not talk about this. Now I get it. Local politics in those places want you to live in ignorance. They want you not to know how to read and write so you keep falling for the bread-and-circuses politics.
Renan Santos: Then they put on a show with the artists, you think the politician is really nice, they live in ignorance, they give you a Bolsa Família, the rest of Brazil pays and everyone becomes poorer. But not necessarily everyone—almost everyone. Some artists will get richer, some politicians. And in that sense I congratulate the Public Prosecutor's Office for Accounts of the State of Paraíba. We're starting a revolution. Numerous shows are being suspended, numerous actions are being filed, and we may see a much more rational use of our money than the 5.3 billion reais that are spent every year on useless shows by municipal governments across Brazil.
Do you agree with me and will you help oversee this kind of artist handout that exists throughout the country? Then share this video now. My name is Renan Santos, I am a pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic.
