Sérgio Moro: Good afternoon everyone. First, Mr. President, allow me to praise the way Your Excellency has conducted the work and the way you treat all Senators of this House alike, whether from the Government's base, from the opposition, or even the independents.
Sérgio Moro: But the criticism I want to make today concerns the replacement of the lead investigator who was conducting the investigations into the theft from INSS retirees and pensioners.
That theft was, in fact, the subject of the CPMI on the INSS, of which I was a member along with many Senators of this House.
Sérgio Moro: That investigation was heading toward a tragic closure in the middle of last year, when that CPMI was constituted and the Government lost the nominations for both the Rapporteur and the President.
Sérgio Moro: That favored only a minimally adequate, reasonable investigation being carried out.
