Tarcisio: So, if we do not reverse this logic, if we do not learn to deal with it, if we do not increase the cost of crime, if we do not invest in asset forfeiture, if we do not revisit the issue of custody hearings, if we do not punish habitual offending, if we do not punish recidivism, if we do not toughen penalties for certain offenses, we will lose this war.
Tarcisio: So, it is a very structural issue, where we have to combine action on several fronts.
So it is not only the issue of integration that is important, it is not only intelligence, it is also punishment, it is a matter of legislation.
Tarcisio: We have to abandon some of the romanticism that surrounds this whole issue of crime and really deliver to society what it needs.
