In President Lula's government, this is how it is: faced with external challenges, we protect our consumers and create opportunities for Brazil to grow.

The demand is simply to correct a market failure: information asymmetry.

The company knows when it will shut down the server, the company even knows how long it will maintain its activities, but it does not clarify this to the consumer.

The company knows that it is not selling the game; the company knows it is selling a license, but it does not make that clear to the consumer.

I remember very clearly a Consumer Law class — something I will never forget.

The market failure of information asymmetry is not about the less advantaged.

A billionaire who buys a hot dog on the corner will have less information power regarding that hot dog than the vendor, who is a million times poorer than him, but the vendor knows what the ingredients were, knows if there is expired product or not, if there is spoiled product or not.

⚖️ THE LAW IS FOR EVERYONE After CONAR issued an injunction against the abusive betting ads broadcast on CazéTV, I am requesting that all the other broadcasters also be subject to the proper scrutiny. It is clear that CazéTV crossed the line. But we want to know whether Globo, SBT, pay-TV channels and the betting companies themselves are complying with current law, the regulation of betting advertising, and the Consumer Protection Code. The reality is that betting companies are ingrained in football and on television. And, given the amount of advertising aired every single day, I find it unlikely that only CazéTV engaged in some form of abusive advertising. The law must apply to everyone. It must apply to CazéTV, to Globo, to SBT, to the betting companies, to free-to-air channels, to pay-TV and to internet channels. And, for that, we need oversight.
