   About: grant cash prizes to students who excel in assessments

   Today, at the General Flores da Cunha Institute of Education, we celebrate the students of the State School System who stood out in SAERS 2025. We are allocating R$ 51 million to award cash prizes to more than 25,000 students who excelled in the assessments throughout Rio Grande do Sul. Congratulations to everyone who dedicated themselves! Assessments help guide more effective public policies. For this reason, recognizing those who participate and work hard also strengthens our entire education network. Education is built on commitment and cooperation. When we took office, we faced difficulties even in keeping the basics running, with teachers' salaries overdue and schools in no condition for investment. Today, we can invest in recognizing students; in upgrading school infrastructure, with one thousand schools being renovated and expanded; and in quality school meals, increasing from R$ 18 million to R$ 180 million per year invested in student nutrition. Not everything is perfect; we still have many challenges and needs to be addressed, but Rio Grande do Sul and education in the state are different now. We have made great progress and will continue working with full commitment to deliver results and keep improving.
