   Brazil is stumbling in education because the current government accumulates promises but fails to deliver. They have been in power for 20 years and cannot provide the answers the country needs. Education is losing quality, and that is a fact. An example of this is the illusion that full-time schooling would save education, but the advantage those schools had on the Ideb fell by 40%, and it has been proven that merely lengthening the school day is not enough. In Goiás, we changed the story. With a focus on the basics, the state reached 80% literacy at the right age, anticipating and surpassing MEC’s 2030 target.
